Who we are

What we collect and why

Enquiry forms. When you send an enquiry or ask for a quote we collect your name and email address, which are required, your business name and phone number if you choose to provide them, and whatever you write in the message, including the products and quantities you are asking about. We use this to reply to you, price the products you ask for and, if you go on to order, to set up and manage your trade account. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and, once you order, the performance of a contract with you.

Phone and email. If you contact us directly we keep the details needed to deal with your enquiry or order, on the same basis.

Website visits. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, for security and to keep the site running. These logs support security, fault diagnosis and reliable operation. We do not use them for advertising. The site does not use analytics or advertising scripts.

Cookies and storage on your device

We do not set advertising or analytics cookies. When you choose to add products to your enquiry list, the website saves the list, quantities and product notes in your browser’s local storage so you can continue building it across pages and visits. This storage is used only for your requested enquiry list, not to track you.

The saved list expires 30 days after its last change and is removed when you next open the site after that period. You can remove it sooner using Clear list on the enquiry page, or your browser’s controls for clearing site data. Do not put sensitive personal information in product notes. The list is not sent to us until you submit an enquiry or choose to email it.

Our website scripts do not save the name, email address or phone number you type into contact fields. Your browser may offer its own autofill or form-restoration features, which you control in its settings. Google Maps is an external link and does not load on this website.

Who we share it with

Enquiry forms are delivered to us by Formspree, Inc., a form-processing service, which passes your message to our email and keeps a copy on our account so we do not lose it. Formspree is based in the United States and processes form submissions there. Its security information describes its use of standard contractual clauses as a processor. Contact us for information about the safeguards applying to your enquiry. Our website host, Gandi, and our business email provider also process information needed to host the site and deliver and store messages. We do not sell or rent your information.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to two years so we can follow up and refer back to what you asked for. If you become a customer, our stated retention period for account and order records is six years after your last order, to support accounting, tax and business-record requirements. Records may need to be retained longer where a specific legal obligation or unresolved dispute requires it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we no longer need it, and object to us using it. You can also ask us to restrict processing and, where the right applies, provide your information in a portable form. Email sales@ferrychem.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
